Colegio St. Francis....Before and After....60 years later!

Peace be with you! On May 22, 1946 the Conventual Franciscans first arrived in Costa Rica in Alajuela.  Within 4 years some friars moved to Moravia in San Jose and Colegio St. Francis opened for it's first year in 1950.  Now 60 years later the friars and the school are celebrating many years of dedication to the education apostolate.  Below are two photos, taken by me, but the originals were not!

First we have an aerial view of the grounds of the school taken sometime before anything was built!

Then we have an aerial view of the grounds of the school pretty much as it looks today.  The only difference that I tell is that the soccer field is now made out of astroturf and not grass.

It is great to be a part of such a long tradition of empowering and teaching children through the Catholic School System. In the next post you will get a close-up look at buildings pictured above. God Bless!
